Alan Borrowman
Alan Borrowman is Managing Consultant at PDQ Scotland Ltd, established in 2007 to provide specialist HSE engineering and support services for international oil and gas clients. He conducts technical risk assessments on concept proposals, design safety audits and incident investigations, and is responsible for providing all of Shell International’s HAZOP Team Leader training.
His career in the chemical and the oil and gas industries has included 20 years in process design and project engineering, followed by 18 years in facility design management. He has experience at a senior level in process design, operations, safety and environmental engineering, and risk management, and has managed complex capital projects.
Alan is a Fellow of the UK Institution of Chemical Engineers and served on the Scottish Branch committee from 1987. In February 1991, he was elected chairman for a two-year term. He has also been a committee member of the Safety and Reliability Society, serving as chairman for the North of Scotland Branch.
